As we move closer towards the festive season, it’s becoming clear a lot of traditions won’t be the same this year. It will be sad to miss out on our usual Christmas parties, busy high streets and Christmas displays.

So, how will we get through without the chaos of Christmas shopping? Well, the silver lining is we’ll have an excellent opportunity to support local independent businesses many of those who’ll be selling through virtual Christmas markets.

Along with a number market hosts, we’re showcasing some of the hardworking businesses across the country. We’ve compiled a list of some online market organisers we think you should bookmark and attend during the festive season.

  1. SwishForIt

Swishforit is a Yorkshire based business that helps compile wish lists from lots of brands through an app.You can create your own list and hope someone surprises you with a Christmas treat. It will definitely help save on the time spent thinking of what to get your loved ones! In their own words, “We’re here for you when there’s too much choice, but not enough time.” Their SWISHMAS event is taking place across two weeks between 1st-15th November.

  1. Black Biz Mamas

Black Biz Mamas is leading the way in creating a space for black female business women to showcase their goods and services through online events, including their online Christmas market. You can access free tickets through their website. Vendor spots are open to both members and non members – meaning anyone can be involved. Vendors will have introductory videos where they can share more about their business and promote any offers. The market is taking place on the 14th and 15th November.

  1. Christmas Cracker Collective

Kickstarting on the 18th November, the Christmas Cracker collective is also launching a virtual Christmas market! They have announced lots of vendors on their Facebook page from beauty brands to clothing brands – we’re sure there will be lots of offers available for all attendees. The proceeds for tickets are going towards charity ‘Cots for Tots’ and the market is available for one night on 18th November 2020.

  1. Virtual Gin-Mas

You may not be able to have festive drinks with friends, family or colleagues. However, this year gin to my tonic has announced a virtual gin Christmas market, smartly named ‘Gin-Mas’. The event is due to take place on the 5th and 6th December. They will have many gin-related activities taking place across the weekend from festive distillery tours to cocktail masterclasses. If you are not a gin fan, do not worry as they will have many other festive spirits and non-alcoholic options to offer.

Of course, we have to mention our own virtual Christmas market, which we are excitedly counting down for! It will be taking place between 19th-22nd November. Not only will we have an online market with lots of christmas inspiration, but we will be holding live events across the weekend. Make sure to visit us to get you in the Christmas spirit and hopefully most christmas shopping sorted!
